About Pixistan
Pixistan is a locally sourced visual archive of Pakistan. Every photograph, film and story on the site is produced by a contributor who lives or works in the region they cover, from the Karakoram valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan to the coastline of Sindh.
Our mission
Global stock libraries under-represent Pakistan and often price licenses in currencies most Pakistani publishers cannot pay in. Pixistan exists to fix both problems. We commission and license Pakistani work in Pakistani Rupees, and we credit the local photographer on every frame.
Where we work
The editorial desk is based in Karachi, with regular contributors in Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Quetta, Peshawar, Gilgit and Hunza. Story assignments are commissioned throughout the year around festivals, harvests, treks and civic events.
Editorial standards
Submissions are reviewed by an editor before publication. We check for technical quality, honest captioning and permission to photograph. We do not accept AI-generated imagery, staged portraits misrepresented as documentary, or images shot outside Pakistan.
