Handicrafts in Pakistan

Truck art, blue pottery, ajrak and hand-stitched leather — craft made by hand across four provinces.

Pakistani handicraft is a working economy, not a museum. Multan fires cobalt tiles in wood kilns, Karachi and Rawalpindi workshops paint entire truck bodies, Sindhi block-printers stamp ajrak in indigo and madder, Peshawar cobblers hand-stitch chappals, and Swat carvers cut walnut screens.

Best time to visit
October–March for southern workshops; April–September for northern woodwork and shawl weaving.
