Packing for Pakistan, honestly
Pakistan is four countries in one pack. Summer in Karachi is 34 °C at 90% humidity; the same week Skardu is 22 °C by day and 6 °C at night. This generator adds the right seasonal and destination layer to a core kit that works across the country.

Essentials most people forget

- Universal power adapter — Pakistan uses Type C and D at 230 V.
- Rehydration salts (ORS) and a basic altitude-headache kit.
- Two hard drives if you shoot RAW — cards fill fast on the KKH.
Packing questions
How heavy should my pack be for a trek in northern Pakistan?+
For a 5 to 7 day trek (Fairy Meadows, Rakaposhi Base Camp, Rush Lake) aim for a 10 to 14 kg pack including sleeping bag, water and a day's food. Porters typically carry up to 25 kg per load.
What layers do I actually need in Hunza in October?+
A daytime T-shirt and light fleece, plus a warm mid-layer and a windproof shell for evenings. Nights in Karimabad drop to 3 to 8 °C in October; Sost and Passu are colder. A wool cap and gloves are worth the space.
Do I need a sleeping bag for guesthouses?+
Standard guesthouses in Hunza, Skardu and Gilgit provide bedding. A liner is enough. For camping (Deosai, Rush, Nanga Parbat) bring a bag rated to at least -5 °C from June to September and -15 °C shoulder season.
Can I fly with drone kit into Pakistan?+
Drones require a No-Objection Certificate from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority before flight. Bringing a drone into Pakistan without an NOC risks confiscation at Islamabad or Karachi airport.
