Karachi is Pakistan's largest city (20+ million) and its economic capital. Founded as a fishing village called Kolachi, it grew under the British into a major port and after Partition became the first capital of Pakistan. The culture is the country's most cosmopolitan — Sindhi, Balochi, Muhajir, Pashtun, Punjabi and Katchi communities live side by side.
