The city of storytellers — Silk Road bazaars at the mouth of the Khyber.
Peshawar is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in South Asia, dating back at least 2,000 years. It sits at the eastern mouth of the Khyber Pass and was a major Buddhist Gandhara centre before becoming a Silk Road caravan hub, a Mughal frontier town, and today the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
